Introduction
MyCalcToolkit ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website mycalctoolkit.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website.
By using MyCalcToolkit, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.
Information We Collect
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website and grant consent, we may automatically collect certain information through Google Analytics 4, including:
- IP address (anonymized via Google Analytics settings)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on pages
- Referring website
- Device type and screen resolution
- Geographic location (country/region level)
Information You Provide
If you contact us through our contact form (powered by FormSubmit.co), we collect the information you voluntarily provide: your name, email address, subject selection, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is processed by FormSubmit.co's servers.
Calculator Data
All calculator inputs and results are processed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not collect, store, or transmit any data you enter into our calculators. Your financial, health, and personal information never leaves your device.
Cookie Consent Management
We use a custom-built cookie consent management system integrated with Google Consent Mode v2. When you first visit our website, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page giving you the following options:
- Accept All: Grants consent for all cookie categories (Analytics, Advertising, Functional).
- Reject All: Denies all non-essential cookies. Only necessary cookies remain active.
- Customize: Opens a preferences panel where you can individually toggle each cookie category.
How Consent Is Stored
Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser's localStorage (key: cookie_consent) as a JSON object containing your preferences and a timestamp. This is not a cookie — it does not get sent to our servers. Your consent choice is valid for approximately 13 months, after which you will be asked again.
Changing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the website footer. This re-opens the consent banner with your current preferences pre-loaded.
Default Consent State
Until you make a choice, all non-essential cookies are denied by default. Google Analytics does not collect data and Google AdSense does not serve personalized ads until you explicitly grant consent. This ensures compliance with GDPR and ePrivacy regulations for EU, UK, and EEA visitors.
Cookie Categories
Our consent system organizes cookies into four categories:
Necessary (Always Active)
Essential for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. Includes the consent preference record stored in localStorage and Cloudflare's security cookies.
Storage: localStorage (cookie_consent) · Duration: 13 months
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use our site. We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-W37E4SW8Q8) which sets cookies to distinguish unique users and sessions.
Provider: Google Analytics 4 · Cookies: _ga, _ga_* · Duration: Up to 2 years
Advertising
Used to serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense. When enabled, Google may set cookies to deliver personalized ads based on your browsing history across websites that use Google's advertising services.
Provider: Google AdSense · Cookies: __gads, __gpi, DSID, IDE · Duration: Up to 13 months
Functional
Remember your preferences and enhance site functionality. This includes settings like your preferred currency in calculators (detected via browser timezone, stored in memory only — no cookies).
Storage: In-memory / sessionStorage · Duration: Session only
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze website traffic and usage patterns. GA4 is configured with the following privacy settings on our site:
- IP anonymization is enabled (
anonymize_ip: true) - Data collection only occurs after the user grants "Analytics" consent
- Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented — GA4 automatically respects the consent state
- URL passthrough is enabled for cookieless conversion measurement
- Ads data redaction is enabled when consent is denied
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google's privacy practices: Google Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense and Advertising
We may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Our implementation uses Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure:
- No advertising cookies are set until the user grants "Advertising" consent
- Ad personalization data (
ad_user_data,ad_personalization) is denied by default - When consent is denied, Google may still show non-personalized (contextual) ads that do not use cookies
- When consent is granted, Google may use the DART cookie and other identifiers to serve personalized ads based on browsing history
Opting Out of Personalized Ads
You can opt out at any time by:
- Clicking "Cookie Settings" in our footer and disabling the "Advertising" category
- Visiting Google Ads Settings
- Visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page
